MAE HUGHES APPOINTED HEAD OF WOMEN'S FOOTBALL

UK Football Scouting are excited to announce the appointment of Mae Hughes as the new Head of Women's Football, marking a significant step in our mission to empower and support the next generation of female footballers.

This exciting new role signals UK Football Scouting’s commitment to providing female players with opportunities to develop their talent and reach the highest levels of the game. With a strong focus on progression and support, we aim to become a driving force in the women’s football landscape across the UK.

Mae Hughes brings a wealth of experience and passion for the game. A lifelong footballer, she began playing at just three years old under the guidance of current Head of Scouting Jon Willis. Hughes now manages the Manchester Metropolitan University Women’s team, who recently celebrated a league-winning season.

In her new role, Hughes will spearhead the launch of Girls Football Trials and the potential development of Regional Training Centres. These initiatives aim to identify and nurture talent, offering promising players the opportunity to develop their skills and advance to higher levels of the sport.

“Our first Girls Football Event will be announced very soon,” UK Football Scouting shared, promising exciting opportunities ahead for young female athletes.

With Hughes at the helm, UK Football Scouting is poised to make a lasting impact on women’s football, offering a platform for players to dream big—and achieve even bigger.
